Register at the Federal Police

As a foreigner, you must register with the Federal Police (RNE) to obtain your National Immigration Registry Card (CRNM). The request must be made online, completing a form to schedule a personal interview at the Polícia Federal unit in Londrina.
The interview must be conducted within 30 (thirty) days after entering Brazil. After this deadline, an additional fee will be charged per day of delay.

Attention: after obtaining your Student Visa and knowing your date of entry into Brazil, you can already make the request and schedule your registration (RNE) with the Federal Police.

Step by step to make your RNE

​

1. Enter the page of the Federal Police and fill out the form;
2. Check the dates available for your interview. If necessary, you can r
eschedule or cancel your appointment;
3. Issue the 2 (two) Guias de Recolhimento da União - GRUs in order to pay the fees related to the Registro Nacional de Estrangeiro Carteira de Estrangeiro 1ª via;
4. Pay the 2 (two) fees (GRUs) at a bank agency. You can use the campus agencies. Value* of fees R$ 204.77 (CRNM) and R $ 106.45 (RNE).
5. Attend the
Polícia Federal at the scheduled date and time with the following documents:

  • Original Visa application form;

  • Two 3X4 photos, recent, colored, with white background;

  • Passport copy (only the pages containing photos, information and visa stamps);

  • Proof of payment of fees (GRUs);

  • Proof of residence (may be a simple statement from the renter or responsible for your housing in Londrina).

6. During the interview, your documents will be checked, and your fingerprints taken. Once this procedure done, you will receive a protocol attesting of your legal status in the country while waiting for the official RNE (edited in up to 3 months). .
